چکیده مقاله:
Abstract Bizarre parosteal osteochondromatous proliferation (BPOP), also known as Nora's lesion is a rare osteocartilaginous lesion composed of a disorganized mixture of cartilage, bone, and fibrous tissue. In this article we report a case of BPOP arising on the proximal and middle phalanx of ring finger in a 31 year-old woman. The clinical, radiographic, MR imaging and histopathologic findings of it are described .The symptoms regressed spontaneously in 2 month after incisional biopsy.

Bizarre parosteal osteochondromatous proliferation (BPOP) is a benign disorder within a spectrum of reactive proliferative processes of tubular bones, particularly the phalanges of the fingers or toes. The cause is unknown, and it is difficult to distinguish BPOP from a bone or soft tissue tumor. The radiographic and magnetic resonance imaging manifestations of reported BPOP cases are mostly no...
متن کاملBizarre Parosteal Osteochondromatous Proliferation causing angular deformities: A Case Report
INTRODUCTION There have been fewer than 150 cases of Bizarre Parosteal Osteochondromatous proliferation (Nora Lesions) reported in the literature to date and no significant reports on angular deformities caused by this lesion. Nora's lesion can easily be misdiagnosed as osteochondroma or chondrosarcoma and therefore inappropriately managed. Although this condition classically appears in the sec...

A case of a left small finger tumour that was diagnosed on histopathological review as Nora's lesion (bizarre parosteal osteochondromatous proliferation) is reported. There have been fewer than 150 cases reported in the literature to date and its pathophysiology is yet to be defined. Due to its rare presentation, Nora's lesion can easily go unrecognized and therefore inappropriately managed.

Histologically confirmed plain radiographs, ultrasound, CT and MRI images of four patients with BPOP were obtained and retrospectively reviewed. T...
